About Giulia
Design, Digital Graphic, and Artisan Technique
Pinestudio was founded by Giulia Carlicchi. After graduating in Architecture at Florence University, Giulia moved to London where she worked for several architectural firms.
Her deep passion for graphic design and illustration soon led her to attend sign painting and screen-printing courses and to undertake personal projects.
Initially she realized chalkboards of pubs across the town and then she started to collaborate on more complex jobs for restaurants and hotels.
It is in this moment that Pinetstudio was born, a workshop where the digital graphic meets the traditional techniques and where every material and surface come to life and color.
Philosophy
For Giulia, the inspiration always comes from the observation of the surrounding environment that could be the countryside and its seasonal colors but also the city’s vibrancy with its lights and signs. Her work explores pattern and organic shapes with a cheerful use of colors and compositions. Moreover, her architectural background left a deep footprint on her work with its rules of symmetry, proportions and perspective and influences such modernism.
Giulia interprets the artistic creation as multidisciplinary and she loves experimenting with new techniques and materials or simply making digital and artisanal interacts with each other, because the handwork is always an integral part of the artistic process and it gives uniqueness to the final product.
In addition, Giulia has always nurtured a deep love for jewelry design, and she designs and manufactures necklaces in which colors meet the geometry of shapes and in which materials such as wood, Formica® and brass interact with each other to create compositions that seek balance and expressive strength.
